The Discovery Center offers programs that focus on nature,
science, history, culture, education, and the arts. From
historical narratives to nature walks to canoeing to events
with live animals or birds, our programs appeal to people
of all ages and interests. Membership and participation
is not limited to Ridgefield, and we encourage members
of all neighboring communities to participate in our programs.
As part of the March to Victory weekend, guides from the
Discovery Center at Ridgefield will point out the sights
during shuttle bus rides to the encampment. These sites
will include the location of the long-vanished liberty
pole, the Ridgebury Episcopal Church, and the home of Thomas
Boughton, who served as a teamster in the French army and
accompanied it all the way to Yorktown.
