Selig's webpage
An expert on the German and French influences on
Colonial American history, Dr. Robert
Selig has served
as Historian to the National Park Service 9-state
Washington-Rochambeau Route task force for the past
five years.
Author of two books about Rochambeau's
experience in Connecticut, Dr Selig is an expert on
the French role in our War for Independence. He will
kick-off Ridgefield's "March-to-Victory" Weekend
with
a spellbinding account of Rochambeau's march to
Yorktown from a logistical perspective. Clad in the
buff and scarlet uniform of a French Quartermaster
General, Dr Selig will detail the day-to-day realities
of the French army on the march and the impact on
the rural Connecticut of 1781.
